Anticipated by fans of the franchise since well-before launch, Creative Assembly today officially announced Total War: Three Kingdoms Reign of Blood; a bloody new effects pack for the bestselling strategy game. Blood packs like this are a staple of the Total War franchise, dating well back through past entries to games like Total War: Shogun 2.
The Total War: Three Kingdoms Reign of Blood DLC Pack
Castle crashers purple knight. The Total War: Three Kingdoms Reign of Blood effects pack looks set to be the bloodiest and goriest Blood Effects Pack ever released by Creative Assembly. The new trailer showcases just how visceral it gets, with limbs flying and blood coating practically everything. As with all Total War games, Total War: Three Kingdoms is very tame when it comes to the portrayal of blood in-game; no doubt something which helps the game avoid higher age ratings and appeal to a wider audience. However, for those fans looking for a bloodier battlefield experience, this pack should provide all they want and more.
The Reign of Blood pack is now available to Wishlist on Steam, and will release on the 27th of June; roughly one week from today. According to Creative Assembly, they had planned to release it slightly sooner, but delayed it to fix some small bugs which were found just a few days ago. It was meant to release alongside the upcoming 1.1.0 patch, but will now release two days later. That patch will launch on the 25th. As always, the Blood pack is DLC, but the cost for it is very minimal. It will be available on Steam for £1.99/$2.99/ € 2.99.
In addition to the announcement of Reign of Blood, Creative Assembly also released some welcome news for the modding community. An assembly kit for Total War: Three Kingdoms will be available soon and is currently in the final stages of development. While it doesn't have a firm release date, the studio says that they are aiming to release it on the 4th of July.
